I Put My Baby In A Pumpkin, So You Don’t Have To: Fall Trends For First Time Moms

If you haven’t done the fall trend of putting your baby in a pumpkin, I’m here to tell you that you should. It was by far a fun way to spend a Saturday afternoon. Also, now we have pumpkin seeds for DAYS!

Anyway, the first step is finding a pumpkin that will be big enough, but not too big for your baby. I’m not sure if there is an exact science to this, but we sat our baby on top of the pumpkin and that seemed to work great!

We had carved a little bit off of the top to create a “hat” for his pictures.

After that, carve the pumpkin to get all of the guts out! Maybe take a break and roast some pumpkin seeds while your bub takes a nap. Then create two leg holes on the front of the pumpkin. Put your baby in the pumpkin to check the fit.

Then take a ton of photos wherever you would like to! For us, we ended up taking them in the front yard at my parent’s house since they got some fun fake grass and lots of sunlight.

A few family members and friends asked me if this was AI since I do have an affinity for making crazy edited photos (mostly of my cat on luxurious vacations). They didn’t actually believe I would put him in a pumpkin.

Just to appease them, I did create one with an AI background.

Anyway, if you want to have a fun weekend, I highly recommend putting your baby in a pumpkin. Baby LOVED it and it was a nice photoshoot for our family, too.

Take the pictures. Enjoy the cuteness. And impress family and friends while doing it.

Next up, taking a picture of a baby in a bowl of candy corn….without him eating any. Stay tuned…
